The Reichert House of Gainesville, FL
Trail Project -February 2015
Alongside Drs. Franklin Percival, DJ Chandler and Taylor Stein I am organizing the construction of a small trail on the property outlined in red on the right. Although small, this trail will afford students the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors in a safe environment. The trail will also provide a place for Reichert educators to conduct outdoor-based activities and lessons.

Herpetology 101 - Winter 2014
In December of 2014 myself and a few graduate students from the Dept. of Wildlife Ecology & Conservation brought a handful of live and preserved specimens to the Reichert House. Among the species touched, viewed and questioned by Elementary, Middle and High School Students were:
This wasn't the kids' first run-in with live herps, however! Drs. Franklin Percival and Ray Carthy of the Florida Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit brought a live, juvenile American Alligator to the house in October 2014!
We hope to make herp awareness more prevalent among the students and staff through visits like this, and through the installation of PVC pipes around the property's retention pond.
